HOUSTON CONVENTION CENTERS

It doesn’t matter how your trade show booth is configured. Convention centers in Houston can accommodate you. Here are some of them:

  • NRG Park. This is one of Houston’s top convention center, sports complex, entertainment complex, and trade show venue. It has the NRG Astrodome, the NRG Stadium, the NRG Center, and the NRG Arena. It is at least 350 acres and hosts at least 500 different events every year. This convention center has about 2 million square feet of meeting or exhibition space. Its parking space can accommodate 26,000 vehicles. NRG Park hosts the Houston Auto Show, the Offshore Technology Conference, the International Gem & Jewelry Show, the Houston Ballet’s Nutcracker Market, the Sysco Food Show, the Build Expo, and the Houston International Boat & Travel Show. It is also the venue for the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Championship Final Four, the 2017 Superbowl, and the 2015 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship Regional. The NRG Park has 1.3 Million square feet of space for exhibits. The NRG Center has 706,213 square-foot exhibit hall.

  • George R. Brown Convention Center. This famous convention center was named after George Rufus Brown—a known engineer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and civic leader. He donated six out of eleven blocks needed to build the convention center itself. The American Society of Travel Agents held the first convention Center there in October of 1987. There is a GRB 2025 Master Plan that is still in the process of completion. The improvements in the GRB started in June 2014. They rerouted the north freight ramp to give more room for the Transit Center and the Avenida North Garage. Present development includes the construction of the Wharf (special area for private events), the Avenida Plaza (outdoor space for pedestrians), and the “Wings Over Water” (interactive art in the Fountain of the Americas). Another piece of art is also featured called “Soaring in the Clouds” which is placed overhead the newly constructed glass facade in the lobby.

  • Avenida Houston. If you want a place to stroll, savor, and sip what downtown Houston has to offer, then this is the place for you. It is in front of the George R. Brown Convention Center. Avenida Houston extends from Minute Maid Park, straight to the Hilton Americas—Houston. Avenida Houston is not only a venue for trade shows and other events, but also a place where you can shop and dine.
